Town hall on JHU finances this Wednesday

October 19, 2020

Dear Johns Hopkins Community:

Last week, President Daniels shared an update on Johns Hopkins’ financial situation, which he said continues to reflect the strain and uncertainty of the pandemic but is nevertheless substantially stronger than we originally feared and is encouraging for the future. We invite you to learn more about our fiscal year 2020 results and 2021 projections as we continue to serve our education, clinical, and research missions; preserve the health and safety of our university community; and respond to the needs of our local and global communities.

We will hold a virtual town hall discussion at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 21 where we will be joined by Helene Grady, vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer; Alicia Wilson, vice president for economic development; and Cherita Hobbs, executive director for employee and labor relations. Stephen Gange, professor and executive vice provost for academic affairs, will moderate questions submitted by participants either in advance at covidtownhall@jhu.edu or during the event.

This is the latest in a series of virtual town halls to elaborate on our planning efforts and take questions from the Johns Hopkins community. Each one is also archived to view at your convenience.

Thank you for your continued participation in these important discussions.

Sincerely,

Sunil Kumar
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Mary Miller
Interim Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration
