A gesture of thanks for an extraordinary year
December 16, 2020
Dear faculty and staff,
This year has tested us all in ways we never could have imagined, and your hard work and contributions – to our university’s mission and to the health of our communities here in Baltimore and around the world – have been extraordinary. You have been asked to sacrifice in innumerable ways and to adapt to ever-changing circumstances, and you have done so with unfailing dedication, professionalism, and compassion.
In recognition of the contributions of our amazing workforce at this challenging time, we are pleased and privileged to be able to extend a supplemental payment of $500 in the final paychecks of 2020 to Johns Hopkins University employees earning less than $200,000 per year in base salary.
This special supplement is available to all employees categorized as full- or part-time and working at JHU as of Dec. 31, 2020. The Johns Hopkins Health System is offering its employees a similar payment, and both the university and health system are supporting an end-of-year thank you payment for many of our dedicated contract workers as well.
While we cannot thank you enough for all you have done for our institution, for one another, and for those we serve, we hope this gesture of appreciation conveys our immense gratitude.
The university’s Human Resources team is available to answer any questions about eligibility and other details of the program over email or at 410-516-2000, and more information is available here.
Thank you for all you have done, and best wishes for a healthy holiday season and a happy new year.
