Town hall on JHU finances Nov. 16

November 12, 2021

Dear Johns Hopkins Community:

Since COVID began impacting our operations in the spring of 2020, we have provided the Johns Hopkins community with information on how the pandemic has affected the university’s finances, and about the steps we have taken to ensure that we can continue to fulfill our mission of education, research, and service.

Thanks to your hard work to return us safely to more normal operations, and to the careful management of the university’s finances and operations during the pandemic, we are hopeful that the academic year that ended in June will be the last in which we contend with significant fiscal impacts from COVID. With a final picture in hand of our finances at the conclusion of the 2020–21 academic year, we invite you to a town hall next week to discuss how we have emerged from this period and our outlook going forward.

The town hall will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 16, from noon to 1 pm. The link to participate will be on the JHU Coronavirus Information website. Registration is not required, but you will need your JHED ID to access the event. Members of the university community are invited to submit questions in advance at covidtownhall@jhu.edu

Speakers are:

•    Sunil Kumar, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
•    Laurent Heller, Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration
•    Helene Grady, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
•    Stephen Gange (moderator), Professor and Executive Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

Thank you for your continuing efforts to see our university successfully through this pandemic. We hope you will join us on Nov. 16.

Sincerely,

Sunil Kumar
Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs

Laurent Heller
Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration
